How to - Add a Ricoh Copier

 

  • Confirm the Make, Model, IP Address, auxiliary components (stapler, folder, etc.), and location for the copier/printer
  • Go to the support site for the copier/printer and download drivers
  • Navigate to the location the drivers were downloaded to
  • Create a folder and name it the manufacturer for the copier
  • Drag/Drop the downloaded file to the folder created in the previous step
  • Extract the files
  • Open the file named RV_Setup
  • Click Yes on the User Account Control prompt
  • Select the Agree radio button and then Next
  • Select the Network radio button and then Next
  • The Driver Installer application will attempt to search for the copier over the connected network
    • Note: You will need to be connected via ethernet for the initial install.
    • If the correct copier appears based on the IP address, continue to the next step
    • If the copier does not appear, select the Click if you cannot find the device button
      • Select the Specify device IP address and click the Next button
      • Type the IP address for the copier and click the Search button
      • Select the copier and click the next button
      • If the copier does not appear, confirm all of the information for the copier and restart this series of steps
      • If you continue to experience issues after repeating the steps contact the IT Manager
  • The drivers will begin to install
  • Do not check the box for Install Device Software Manager and click the Next button
  • On the Complete page, click the finish button
  • Click the Windows icon
  • Click Settings
  • Type Printers & Scanners in the search bar
  • Confirm you can see the copier has installed
  • Select the copier and open Printer Properties
  • Rename the copier to match the appropriate example below:
    • Examples:
      • AAS-ANT-Copier
      • AAS-ASIT-Color-Printer
      • AAS-ASIT-Tech-Printer
      • AAS-CLA-Color-Printer
      • AAS-CLA-FAC-Copier
      • AAS-CLA-TA-Copier

    • NOTE: This is not a complete list of all copiers and printers deployed in CASITS supported groups. Department printers should follow a similar name as show above. Personal Printers connected via USB or network can be named based on the make/model of the printer. If you are unsure how to name a copier/printer, contact the IT Manager.
  • In the “Location” box, type the location of the copier/printer
    • Room number then building name
      • Example: 021 Longmire
  • Click the OK button
  • If the department uses copier codes, open Printing preferences
    • Select the Detailed Settings tab
    • Select Job Setup
    • Type the User Code in the User Code box
    • Click the OK button
  • Click Print a test page and confirm the test page prints
